Based on my experience as a design and media student so far, I have observed both in myself and those around me that the demands of constant creativity for the purpose of academics can be draining. By taking on this project, I feel that it will provide me with a space to nurture my design skills without the pressure of getting a certain mark or outcome and ignite a sense of inspiration for fellow designers.
As expressed in my pitch presentation, my digital artefact will act as a platform that showcases both my design work and provides other designers with creative inspiration. In turn, hopefully allowing my audience to eventually expand and attract potential clients such as small business owners. However, the target audience for now is purely designers and design students.
Why is This Project Beneficial?
According to a 2021 Adobe Blog titled How to Combat Creative Burnout, an effective way to bring back creativity is to focus and take time out to consume rather than create. Some of my favourite sources of inspiration for the design work I produce comes from the media I consume on Instagram. Instagram accounts such as @briefclub, @bymacie_ & @itsabiconnick have been largely beneficial to my design practice, however they are all based in the UK. Therefore,I wanted to create something similar to these, but based in Sydney to attract local designers.
